That 'Stranger Danger' thing was very overrated.

Why didn't Rutger Huer get better roles after zblade runner. He was easily s better actusk actor than most of them active in the eighties.

Possibly didn't take it up the shitter.

Or told some Ho-wood magnate to GTF.

That's the usual reason.

Or maybe wanted less drama in his life.

He seemed to be one of those Euro actors who didn't buy all the way into the Hollywood-y thing.

Similar to Christophe Waltz.
Big roles, Tarantino etc.
Stays lower key, not at all Hollywoody.

Unlike Schwarzenegger/Van Damme (as comparison).

strangely the film Blade Runner was set in 2019, in which Roy Batty perhaps his most famous character died, and now it's 2019 and Rutger Dies himself...…….

I think the makers of the 'car' for that attempt should be held liable. It's nothing but an old Lockheed F104 with some metal wheels bolted on. Now, my understanding of aerodynamics is rudimentary but relatively solid and even I can say that basing a car which is intended to go supersonic on an aircraft is potentially lethal without serious modifications to it's shape. Aircraft are designed to fly, after all, and some lift is provided by the fuselage. It appeared to have no downforce generating surfaces, nor any kind of ground effect modifications.

https://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/articlefiles/12_0502_valerie_thompson_01.jpg

Compare that to the Thrust SSC which was designed from scratch to be a car:

https://i1.wp.com/www.motorsportnationals.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/thrust-ssc.jpg

The difference might appear subtle, but the frontal area is very different, and the intakes of the SSC are partially above the nose of the car changing the centre of pressure. There is also a spoiler on the rear of the vehicle.

Compare this to the Bloodhound:

https://static.independent.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2017/10/26/19/bloodhound-02.jpg?w968

It's obvious the American Eagle attempt is flawed, and perhaps their understanding of transonic aerodynamics is a little... limited...

As awkward questions keep being asked, are we expecting Prince Andrew to meet an unfortunate end or will it be Virginia Giuffre who meets her maker?

It depends whether he shows signs of blabbing to the media about his (alleged) pervy chums. I can't see him doing that though because it simply wouldn't be cricket.

They probably thought that the small foreplanes would suffice.

Billy Bacon of the Forbidden Pigs died recently. Crying or Very sad

only liked some of there stuff, but as I like psychobilly almost as much as punk, some of their rockabilly stuff would turn up on my playlists, usually via Mojo Nixon.

Sort of. The F104 Starfighter was 'affectionately' known as "the flying coffin", so not great in the air either Laughing

Thinking Perhaps if they had turned it upside-down before bolting the wheels on...

The F104G was the flying coffin, but the American version was known as 'The Missile with a man in it'. Super quick, not particularly maneuverable and nasty nasty low speed flight characteristics. The Germans only bought it because they were bribed by Lockheed... which put paid to the Saunders Roe SR.177 project which could have been a world beater.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saunders-Roe_SR.177

Also, totally inappropriately for a jet car...the early F104s had a downward firing ejector seat!
