I used to enjoy his earlier novels, even though they were more far fetched than James Bond.

Then he went into writing collaboration (read people bought his name to add to their books to make them sell) and it all went to sh1t. A bit like the Chinese buying brand names to fool people into thinking they are buying something decent.

Aye, I went through a period where there was pretty much one of his books on my nightstand constantly. The books were "Bloke Fluff" and a lot pretty much to the same formula (Dirk and Al save the world, and at some point escape from a desert/remote island/jungle by making a vehicle out of whatever crashed in the opening chapter, all whilst having gunshot wounds/broken legs), but were good to get off the planet for a while. I stopped reading when the collaborations started.
