Ok, Johnny Hallyday death day 2. BFMTV has a picture of him in the bottom left corner of the screen with 1943-2017 written underneath and the news coverage is about a tribute or parade they are going to have in his honour today. Jeez, I hope I can still make my train tomorrow!

This is really eerie. I don’t think anyone in the UK dying would trigger this sort of over the top mourning. There is a guy on TV right now in floods of tears! Like a news guy or someone! Not even some weirdo on the street... I have to leave this place.

Where were you when David Bowie and George Michael karked it? Johnny H was to France what Paul McCartney is to the UK. Frenchy is probably quite upset that both popular singers known internationally (albeit marginally in Hallyday's case) that they've spawned are now dead - Piaf being the other...

People mentioned David Bowie’s death, but they didn’t keep vigil on every TV channel. Sure they played tribute programmes but I don’t recall his face being kept on the bottom right hand corner of TV screens for three days.

Ok Former president Sarkozy’s wife is crying on TV now before the parade down the champs elysses in homage to Johnny. Did Cherie Blair cry on TV over Bowie?

Yeah but don't forget, they did away with their royal family yonks ago, so this is the best effort of fake communal grief they can ever hope to muster.

Agreed. She's one for a paper bag or thinking about her money you might be able to spend in order to get a hard on

Its catch 22 here, Glad he is dead as it isnt costing us, the Tax payer money anymore, to keep him, But Id love him to have suffered until the day before he was due to get out, then die.

Best quote about Clifford,

"If he's so good at PR, how come everyone thinks he's a c*nt?"

Also, wasn't he supposed to be writing a book in prison dishing all the real dirt he concealed about various slebs? A convenient death then?

I did love him (and Magnus Pyke, for similar reasons) - they don't seem to have the same calibre of loveable slightly insane scientists on TV anymore.

I liked the mention in the beeb article that he turned up for his 80th birthday party on a fire extinguisher powered scooter. That sounds entirely in character.

Although I have been enjoying the programs hosted by Jim Al Khalili. Note I said "enjoying", not necessarily "understanding" Laughing But certainly not a chap in the lovable eccentric mould. *Sigh* They don't make science like they used to Sad
