HT mentioned his passing elsewhere here. Smith was a marry old bugger. I went to The Fall gig and he had a paddy and refused to go on stage. I had to leave to get the last train so never saw them. Apparently he eventually did go on stage and gave a shortened set because noise laws.

Edit: I did forgive him because at least I got to see the support act, Dr John Cooper Clarke
