I'd cheerfully have hanged[*] him.

And everyone who defended him in the courts.

And everyone who advocated for him after incarceration.

And everyone who claimed that he was mad rather than genuinely evil.

[*] By which I mean dipped repeatedly into a vat of acid.

Not wishing to be flippant, but have you seen the size of the Yorkshire Moors? I mean, I can't remember where I've planted a flower bulb in the garden until it pops up.

If you planted a dead child you'd probably remember where it was.

I don't get why he wanted to get out of the nut hatch and into regular prison. I'd always understood that the former regime was easier than normal 'bird'. Soz if this was covered above.

I think he was as insane as they come. You have to be to do what he did to children. He was also a brilliant manipulator of people according to the prison shrink.

Pity neither he or Hindley were executed.

Insanity as a defence reduces or removes culpability for your actions.

Insane in my book is when you kill someone and then sit there nonchalantly finger painting with their entrails because the demons in your head like pretty pictures.

Insane is not a pre-planned series of operations done for personal gratification, carefully covered up, and then denied.

I can't see anything in his behaviour to indicate that he wasn't fully cognisant of his actions. In the final murder he done fucked up in believing that he could pull Hindley's brother-in-law into Murder Club, but misjudgement isn't insanity. Note that he used the back of an axe to bludgeon the lad rather than get his brains everywhere.

No excuses. Mad or evil, the results are exactly the same.

Oh I totally agree, no excuses and madness shouldn't be an excuse. You put a dog down when he bites a human, even if it's deserved. No reason not to put a human down when he turns on society like that in my eyes.

I'd include shits like Jimmy Savile and the Rotherham perverts in my cleansing operation even though they didn't actually kill people. Thumbs Up

Unless that human wanted to die, so in another way a greater way to punish him is not to let him die, and keep force feeding him for as long as possible so he doesnt get his way.

It's a comforting thought, but I can't bring myself to believe that professional psychlos inflicted a fraction of the suffering on him that he'd earned.

I read somewhere that the moors, being basically a peat bog are like a slow motion ocean, bury something in it and a few years later it can be miles away.

Oh Crying or Very sad
I liked Michael Parks in Kill Bill2, I thought he played the revolting flirty old pimp, Esteban Vihaio, with much panache. It was one of my favourite scenes.
