I'm trying to add a postcode to my profile, and it's rejecting it as invalid. Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

The message is :-

"Your postcode could not be translated into a map reference, please check it and try again"

I was trying to change my postcode today and kept getting the same message.

I even tried to put the old one back in and it rejected that one as well! Confused

Back then BCF used multimap for processing postcodes and putting them on the map, multimap now says:

"<h2>Our services aren't available right now</h2><p>We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon.</p>0h2duXwAAAABVJ4UMzkw/Rr9BWwbjk5TPTE9OMDRFREdFMDQxMABFZGdl"

Multimap became bing maps so I'm going to say that nobody is working to restore multimap services as microsoft have pulled the plug and it's never coming back. Laughing

To be fair, resurrecting a 16 year old thread is not a positive impression for a new member.

I dunno, it illustrates just how old BCF is. Laughing

Multimap stopped being a thing in 2007 so it's impressive that the postcode map has continued working for so long.

True. Although another forum I am on have “use the search!” as a strapline and I’d already done a “What kit?” thread before realising there are shed loads. Rolling Eyes

Anyhow, Zombie threads FTW, reminds you of your youth. Wink
