Certificate errors?

I'm Not sure if I've terminally upset my PC, but basically I upgraded to Kaspersky 2016 internet security, and now I've got issues ever since.

When trying to access, google, you tube, my normal email account and other sites like my mates band/gig website, it comes up with a message to say there are certificate errors, and I should not proceed to the website. If I do ignore it, then the websites seem to show limited content on the page, and I get pop ups saying I should close the browser window.

I take it that it's only me that all these web sites have suddenly taken a dislike to, and they are not indeed all out of date and screwed up for everyone. So basically how can I fix it without removing my new internet security program?

BCF is unaffected, hence why I am on here a bit more often these days.

Check what date your computer thinks it is.

I too upgraded to Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 on my new(ish) laptop. I had similiar issues.

Not being particularily techy (plus I couldn't be arsed with it) I eventually uninstalled and all has reverted back to normal again.

Currently just relying on Windows Defender for the time being - I may try re-installing KIS16 at some point in the future, once a few updates/patches have been applied and see how it works then.

Incidentally it works fine on my Android phone and Android tablet - go figure.....

Do you have scanning of encrypted connections enabled in the settings somewhere?

Wouldn't surprise me with an internet security module that it does a local man-in-the-middle to scan web traffic for naughty things. That would require Kaspersky to have its own self-signed certificates for every website. If your computer doesn't trust Kaspersky's certificate, you'll get all the errors you're currently getting.

So, if I'm right, two options)
1) Disable Kaspersky from scanning your encrypted web traffic (or, tbh, web traffic full stop
2) Install the Kaspersky certificate as a trusted root certificate on your computer.
