When did you get a TDM? Eh?

I dip into the Indian Enfield forums occasionally and it doesn't make for happy reading. The dealers seems to have trained at the Victor Devine School of Customer Service, with the advanced class going on to the Vince Candelin Academy for Fobbing Off.

Enfield tend to follow the BMW model of completely denying that there's a problem, while quietly working on a fix. To this day, they've never admitted that the sprag clutches fitted prior to 2010 were fragile junk.

So I'd give it a few years and revisions before taking a punt on one.

The engine is going to have its work cut out, the Benelli is a a heavyweight with a kerb weight of 235kg. To put that into perspective, BMW's new R1200GS Exclusive TE weighs 244kg

I'm genuinely impressed, they must have had to really work to make a parrallel twin 500cc bike weight 235kg it's 40kg more than a CB500X. Thats a small person! Laughing

Even my TDM is ONLY ~220kg Laughing

A Tiger 800 is only 191kg. There must be lead in that there Benelli Laughing

The Benelli sounds like a bit of a disaster, which is actually good news. This means that nobody will buy one and they'll eventually be available super-cheap. Good news for folks who want a bike that barely goes, barely stops but has excellent weather protection for easy back road touring. I'd probably take a punt at £3k new.

Having said that, other over-priced bikes such as the SR400i and Van Van 200 still ain't cheap, even although they sell in tiny numbers.

How many Kilo's!?

The Pre-2015 XJR1300's (not the newer ones that have shrunk in the wash) I am eyeing up are 224KG, and it's whole bloody raison d'etre is that it's an older, bulky design.

Sticker price no, but Suzuki were prepared to take a very low ball offer for a pre registered VanVan which would have been very good value in reality.

...dry, 240ish wet I believe. It's the only bike I felt ill-equipped as a human being to ride, it was far far too heavy and my arms were far far too short.

I'm 6' 3", and they felt fine. Certainly they were heavy, but I've trundled worse cruisers around for mates. A bloke I see in the bike bay at the supermarket must only be about 5' 6" or so, has 2 (Blue and green) so I suspect there's a knack for shorter people.
