I second the previous poster, they are dreadful bikes. Buy literally anything else instead. MT07 for example.

I've commuted on one for 8 years, the bike magazine reviews have always been really positive. Upright bars, light, easy to filter, but capable.

Most it will go will be around 128, it will still leave all cars in the distance from traffic lights.

My ER6 doesn't have a coded key, but perhaps that has changed now.

My downpipes snapped 1 week before the warranty ended.

I'm probably on my 3rd exhaust.

It has never broken down or let me down.


Ohh one thing, the tyres that it came with where shxte and I mean shxte, they felt dangerous and after a few twitches going in a straight line in rain, I swapped them for BTs.

I'll get another when mine goes.

I have also ridden the bike on run outs and I do enjoy it, I do have another bike (faster), but I enjoy the ER6, I used to take it over the moors and enjoy thrashing it every lunchtime, but I don't really get the chance these days.

Of course. The con for both is they are new therefore overpriced when you can get one a year old for a lot less.

And...more bike for less $$$

Surely a second hand MT07 with a few miles on it will be cheaper than brand new ER6N or CB500F. More fun and better bike. WINWIN

Maybe dial down the sperg, you're at about an 8. Aim for a 3 or a 4.

Multiple people have suggested buying a used MT-07, or a used example of any bike, over a brand new ER6 or CB500. You've given no reason at all why you're insisting on buying a new bike chosen from a short list of 2.

You'll get advice that's exactly as good as the information that you provide.

You should invest in a Sybian instead and ride it all night every night. You'll need clean sheets and maybe a couple of stitches in your rectum but it will be more fun than either of those bikes.

Think he wants a brand new bike.

And why not. My last 3 bikes have all been brand new and I'm glad I did it. As far as bike mechanics go I haven't a clue so buying new works for me. If you can afford it then why not.

I suspect he lives in some authoritarian hell-hole like Austria or Switzerland. They probably have some sort of Logan's Run scheme going on where if you get caught on a bike more than 3 years old, you're executed to improve the gene pool.
