We have a wide variety of weird & wonderful folk on here, so I guess someone might know what I`m on about.

A while back I read a bike magazine and there was an article about a fellow in the 50`s?/60`s? who rode a Royal Enfield Continental, a bit like this one.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Royal-Enfield-Continental-GT250-Classic-British-Motorcycle-/291629135336?hash=item43e67375e8:g:ArwAAOSwgyxWXbP6

He rode it from Lands End-to-John O`groats in under 24 hours.

As those who are regular on here will know, 250`s and LE-to-JOG are interests of mine.
I lost the article and am trying to get a copy again, but I cant remember what magazine it was in, can anybody point me in the right direction please?

I want to do LE-to-JOG in under 24 hours for no other reason than I just want to and it keeps me amused.
However I might learn something from the article if I can find it again.
The point being, when he did it, there were no motorways and I want to look at what route he took.

Thank you in advance if you can help Thumbs Up

Google 'Royal Enfield Top to Tip'

loads of articles talking about the original attempt and people who have recreated it.

I read a similar article in my old mag. I reckon it was in Bike, cos I was a one-time subscriber. It'd have been between June 2012 (when I started my subs) and probably a 18 month window after that. Sad thing is I threw my whole back catalogue away about 6 weeks ago. I think it was mentioned on the cover, and the dude was a member of something called the Iron Butt Association. I can't remember if this was end-to-end or 1000 in 24 hours though.

HTH.
