It looks like an old man's bike but it shifts for it's size.

160BHP and 100b/ft of torque but it weighs in at 300kg. It has a few nice features though like electric screen, ABS and traction control. It also has a dash that tells you MPG, tank range, what your tyre pressures, battery voltage and some other bits. Also it has a keyless ignition, just put the transponder in your pocket and off you go.

Got loads of power in pretty much any gear, flat power delivery, very easy to get into licence losing speeds.

Did you test anything else for comparison? I want to replace the Pan European I sold last year. Did look at the GTR but thought it was a bit lardy so am being drawn to the FJR1300.

It looks more lardy than it feels TBH, the thing that struck me most, apart from the power, are the brakes.

It does need a new rear tyre, it's a bit low and squared The bike does seem a bit hesitant to turn in but I think that was a combination of weight and me taking it easy on an unfamiliar bike as well as the tyre.

That's a very tidy bike. Looks like it's been well looked after.

With regard to the steering, I found with my FJR (similar weight) that whatever you dialled in to the front suspension had a BIG effect on handling. For me, the stock settings just didn't work so might be worth checking on the GTR forum to see what folks are running. Different bike, of course, but plenty of weight over that front wheel.
