Welsh Jaunt this Friday - route advice please

Got a Lands end to John O groats for charity pencilled in for May but I'll start another thread for that once I get it all confirmed.

Reason I'm here today though is simply that I'd like some advice on good Welsh roads and lanes.

I'll be starting off in Bristol and would like to plan a good five+ hours ride. I've done plenty of the mountain roads and can get around fairly well but I'm wondering if any of those interesting lanes I keep seeing in the mags are nearby.

Ignore the fact that Friday may be horrible weather weather. Doesn't bother me. Wales is rarely kind to me and I've good kit.

Any favourite roads or lanes I can chain together to make for a fun birthday ride? I'm itching to do a long run. It's been months since I've done anything but commute. I'll leave at first light and aimt o be back by sun down.

Any good routes known of? nice mixture of mountain and lane. I'm fully GPSd up.

Looks like the weather will be just the right side of not great tomorrow in south Wales then.
