I am buying a new motorcycle. Which should I choose? The honda cb500f or the kawasaki er6n. The er6n is 300 euros more and cost more to insure being a 650cc.

Tit for tat.

I'm more of a Honda man usually, but I'd say go with the Kawasaki.

It has dual front discs. I don't trust bikes with single front disc brakes.

I can't see the CB500f as a fun machine to be honest.

CB500F is made for the A2 market, I suspect the bike could put out more bhp than it currently does. For that reason I'd go for the ER-6, and I agree with Doovy, I'd want twin discs with a bike that heavy.

I like the cb500f but the engine on it seems down on power. especially the low end torque.

Then read reviews on them on the internet and then make your mind up. Taking a test ride can also help as YOU are the one sitting on the bike. NOT anyone else with their own opinions Thumbs Up

Remember that YOU have to live with the bike. Not other people.

Why just those two bikes? Why not, for example, the MT-07?

The mt 07 have trouble with the ignition. Why nowadays everything is rubbish and cheaply made? It seems that all japanese bikes are built in thailand. I think I better stick with my ybr and not spend my hard earned money on a shit bucket.

Honda are producing some of their models in Thailand, but I believe the MT-07's made in Japan.

Honda make the CB500X in Thailand.
Don't know about any of these though.
Although I'm pretty certain the YBR isn't made in Japan....

the ybr 125 is built in china but all of you know how reliable and simple bikes they are. I am more interested in the yamaha xj6 but the dealer don't have any and told me that they no longer make the bike.

Both will be reliable. No Japanese manufacturer makes an unreliable full sized bike.

Running costs will be similar. Insurance will be similar, maybe slightly more for the ER-6, but not enough that it should be a factor in your decision.

I usually dislike Kawasaki, but in this case I would go for the ER-6. I think it looks nicer with the offset rear shock and sportier riding position, it has a bigger engine and it seems popular. The CB500 is now an old design, which has been made heavier and less powerful for the new licencing rules.

I owned a CB500 for about 18 months. It was dull, I always forget that I owned one. I assume the new model is even more dull and forgettable.
