Hi m8

I am currently using a Gilera SC 125 have had no problems since I've had it. Yamaha DTR1 engine in it so quite reliable indeed, mine always starts first time if warm, if its cold it needs a bit of choke and starts no problem. As a first bike is great, really fast(for a 125) for a learner.. as the 2 stroke engine is really nippy compared to the 4 stroke R125's, its not easy to get bored.. if she gets an R125 or any 4 stroke she's going to be bored really quickly in my opinion, they just dont offer the same experience im afraid. . My Gilera does 115 tucked in and it is restricted. . De restricting these can lead to problems I've heard, the same with the big bore kit.. I personally had one of these put in.. it was an Athena big bore kit 170cc.. And had to take out as it wasn't as compatible as I'd hoped .. I would recommend keeping it at standard. . As it is quite fast enough for a 125. I haven't met a 125 thats been able to get away from me yet. Yes thats a challenge Wink. Hope you enjoy your Gilera SC. Razz

I have no idea what you are on about. But I'm guessing you meant to hit "Reply" rather than starting a new topic. Razz

115mph Neutral mine was derestricted via the fuse and on the longest straighten and slightly down hill at full tuck on a private road it did 106 mph indicated. When I pulled over the end can was glowing. The beauty of that bike is the suspension and the braking, it's a great toy on winding roads and I miss mine very dearly used to out handle other 125s before being passed by the RS125s and mitos on the straight, enjoys it
