I want to check the air filter for lifespan...

The Haynes manual simply says to turn the fuel tap to "Off" and pull the hoses. Will this not still leak something on me/the bike etc?

Yes, some of the petrol will still leak, from the hose. IF you want a dry removal, you could turn the fuel tap OFF and run the engine till all the fuel from the hose is gone.

To your question, no more fuel will leak from the tap, if the tap works. Thumbs Up

Hi , Turn petrol off ,remove 6 and 8mm bolts and collars front and rear, lift tank up and support it, disconnect fuel tube ,drainer tube, and breather tube. There will be a small loss of petrol out of the fuel tube but have a cloth ready, good ideal to disconnect the battery ,in case of sparks
