It probably is a mother problem. A spring snapped on our trampoline and whacked young Master Borg on the bonce. Scalp wound, so blood. I told him to rub some dirt on it and walk it off, Mrs Borg threw him in the Mummy Bus and rushed to A&E because what if concussion-fracture-death.
I thought of tying her to the bed, but it wasn't a Friday.
I'd feel bad about it, but then again, I pay taxes. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Maybe it's just location, but our local A&E is mainly a drop in centre for free medical care for "tourists" or people not registered with, or prepared to wait 3 weeks to see a GP.
I think front line emergency care in the UK is spot on, but a lot of the lower end, non critical care is just a huge waste of resources.
I used the NHS after a fairly serious racing accident, involving a chest drain being fitted at the track, plus a heli-lift to the John Radcliffe, where I was in a critical care trauma unit for 5 days.
I was then transferred (by my racing club, with a medic and ambulance borrowed from MSV, not the NHS) to my local hospital. Initially I was put in a standard ward and left unattended. Once it was pointed out I had an epidural in my back and should be on a morphine drip, I was taken to intensive care.
After a couple of days, it was pretty obvious that I'd be better off recovering at home than staying in the local hospital. They planned on keeping me in for another week, which was completely unnecessary.
I then had to waste 4 X half days going back for pointless appointments with a physio, who just gave me a stronger rubber band to trap in a door at home to do exercises with. On the 4th visit I told them It was a waste of both their and my time and asked for them to give me all 3 remaining strength bands in one hit and I'd phone my GP if there was an issue. The initial plan was for me to go back another 4 times.
A great service at the pointy end, but incredibly wasteful elsewhere. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

More a&e ranting... you overhear people being asked how much pain they're in on a scale of one to ten.
Ten ten ten!!!! One hundred!!!!
Bawwwwwwwwwwwwww babies. Wimps. Pussies.
Okay data protection patient confidentially would never allow it but if they had screens in the waiting room showing the rough order of the queue then those who shouldn't be there in the first place would get an idea of what a&e is actually for and why they're being left waiting for hours.
Sure, other people being more severely injured doesn't make your own injury any less painful or severe but it would open peoples eyes about what "accident and emergency" really means. |

Apparently if the attending physician shares ethnicity with the patient the ailment will likely be taken more seriously,
as will any provision of relief for patient described levels of pain/discomfort.

Mr Justice Green, in full possession of all the provable facts, rules: new contract is fine, quit your bawwing.
Sad times, I guess they'll all be off to New Zealand and Australia. You know, on principle. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

But, but, things are just awful. The BBC told me so, they had a "staff nurse" on to tell me how bad it i- aaaaaand she's a Marxist activist.

Well, OK, but Channel 4 had a lovely, lovely junior doctor on, blubbing that it was just terriba- aaaaaand he's a Marxist activist.

2015: Totes going to quit the NHS.
2011: Actually did quit the NHS, fvcked off to Australia, but they kicked the whinging Pom out after just a year and he crawled back.
So, do please tell us yet again why the NHS is so intolerable, but you just can't bear to leave it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

And yet, this chap did bolt for greener pastures, apparently realised that the NHS wasn't so bad after all, but now he apparently can't stop carping on about it, while not following through on his repeated threats to leave again.
So, should we believe what he says, or believe what he's done?
Seems pretty simple. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
