Before you commit to hour after hour of frustratedly bashing and tugging at your stanchion, have you tried running a thin piece of plastic (e.g. a strip cut from a fizzy drink bottle) under the seal?
Sure, it might not work, but then again it might (I'm three for three so far) and it only takes a couple of minutes to try. Worse case is that it confirms that the seal actually needs replaced. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

If they are new seals and have gone again, you may need to adress WHY.
Could be pitting on the stanchion damaging the new ones. Could be worn bushes causing excess play.
