Dvla trying to skank £25 from me.

Got a Bandit 400 given to me a few months back by the father in law, he never had a logbook for the bike as he was given it himself, the guy who gave it to him lost the log book, so I have recently applied for a new one. Dvla clearly state that if I'm applying for a logbook for a bike which I have never the received the logbook for, the documents are free, they are usually £25.

Fast forward to today when this came through the post. One is just a photocopy of what I sent to them, shows that I've ticked the £25 exemption part.

The form I filled in states that I won't have to pay because I never received the log book, but the letter states that I have to pay it even of I never received it.

You also needed to enclose the green slip (new keepers supplement) V5c/2 to get the v5 issued for free as stated in section 4 of the v62.

Have to pay the fee, been there done that. It also takes ages, up to 6 weeks I think.
