No I'm okay with the three main methods of biasing a transistor: base, collector-base and voltage divider. However recently I've seen loads of circuits (ham radio gear) with emitter degeneration in a base or collector biases circuit and I've absolutely no idea how to do a DC analysis.....

Halp anyone?

I've spent hours (at work) trying to figure it out, the best I could come up with is that the emitters resistance would get multiplied by the beta of the resistor and make a voltage divider to get a base voltage?

So if RB was 100k and RE was 100 with a beta of 100. The transistor beta would make the emitter resistor look like 100k so base voltage would be roughly half the supply (theres the 0.7 base-emitter drop in there somewhere too). Just my musings tho and probably wrong....
