My instructor, despite owning many Yamaha's and a KTM RC8, rated the GSXR 750 as the most competent all round bike you could buy

you will find the torque of the 750 usefull .. but a 600cc would be equally enjoyable providin you like thrashin through the gears..

you pays your money take your choice ...

i prefere a 1 litre .. but thats my choice .. more interested in the point and squirt than that of the cogg swoppin 600cc.

Sold my K4 750 to travel. If/when i come back to the UK I will buy another, maybe a K5.

You can thrash a 600 easier, but you can also thrash the 750. Whereas i never could REALLY thrash my 99 R1, was not a good enough rider.

I would agree with him.Superb bikes....

I'd add my agreement to this. Best bike for most occasions I've owned.

Rode around France the other year in company with a friend on a GSXR750K8 and it kept up everywhere we went Wink

You should consider a daytona 675 as well.

I was in the same situation as you coming from a cbr600f and wanted to upgrade.

I test rode a new 750, and a 675r.

Both great bikes, but I went for the 675r as it handled a lot better in the bends.

Engine is nowhere near as strong as the 750 but is torquey enough that it's well suited to road riding.

Three people that I know have or have owned 675 Daytonas. They are all of differing height and the tallest found the riding position very cramped with lots of weight on his wrists. The shorter of the three found the seat height too high when at a stop. But the other rider rider found the bike ideal for his stature, but on the road found he wanted more power.

Op said bendy country roads without many straights so in my mind the handling of the 675 trumps the extea power of the 750 (but that il4 power surge is addictive...).

Im 6 foot and can ride with no issues, that said the newer models are known for being a bit comfier.

Sounds like the Op needs to put the laptop down and get out and test ride a few bikes.. other peoples opinions will only get you so far...!
