Following my post in the spill counter... Does anyone know whether 4XV R1 fairings fit on a 5JJ? And if so does anyone have any 5JJ or 4XV front fairings in red?

And has anyone had experiences with Chinese fairings? Are they any good, and where did you get them from?

Think there is a tenuous enough question in there to warrant a General Bike Chat thread rather than a wanted thread?!

Not sure on fitting but chinese fairings have come on leaps and bounds.
There's a few threads on here about them. I know Tot had them on his blade and I think Paddy had some aswell, they both seemed happy enough. One of the fairing panels (don't know whose) was damaged and the seller refunded some monies.

Yah I went China for mine. 330 with 50% off when one cracked. Fixed with glue and was impossible to see scratch.

Don't see why they won't fit between models.

I've used Chinese fairings to bring quite a few bikes back to life. Generally good fit and finish. The fact that they can make a whole bikes worth of plastics for circa £350 should shame the manufacturers, (but it won't).
The only downside is that you cannot get OEM designs, copyright and all that. But some look close enough that they are acceptable.
If you have the imagination, some alloy strip to make mountings and are good with a Dremel, you can generally make any models fairing fit.
Most IL4's are roughly the same dimensions, but dont try putting a Ducati fairing set on a Fireblade.. it doesn't fit at all!

front nose cone on 4xv and 5jj is different as the bracket is different.

upper fairings are the same, i think the lower fairings are the same

tail fairing unit is different as sub frame thingy is different

tanks are different same as brake and clutch levers and clutch are different.

Righto, Chinese it may have to be then! Thanks for the info. I've seen some OK lucky strike ones. Problem I'm having is as my tank is fine, I need to find a set that is going to match the tank colour.
