Managed to break off a small part of the flange, of which a bolt goes through, on the rear header.

First, can stainless steel be re-welded?

Second, can anyone recommend anywhere within SE England (pref London/Kent area) that can do this?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, stainless can be welded. It's one of my favourite metals to arc weld as you can get a beautiful finish. As with any welding, preparation, the correct rods and easy access (unless you are a welding god and can perform miracles Laughing )

I would just look in yellow pages for welding shops. Doesn't have to be bike specific so some old bloke in a shed will be what you want. Thumbs Up

I dunno, Vincent and 'The Bear' seem experienced, but I hear Stainless Welding requires prior knowledge of fishfingers.
Where is BodyGuard when you need him eh? Such welding God, So many thou.

Stainless is very hard to break, what did you do to it? Photos please.

Looks like the exhaust had been blowing slightly so was very slightly cracked, bike has 50k on it so most likely just due to general wear and tear.

In trying to remove the header from a tight spot with very little force (genuinely very little) through wiggling it just snapped. Having done some research this appears to be something that can happen on these headers (for Aprilia/Rotax V-twins).

Will post pics this evening.
