So 45 years after being found innocent of an alleged offence, which was withdrawn, the BBC are sacking him because his recollection of something which never happened, differed 45 years on.

Sounds like an easy excuse to lower the wage bill to me.

I honestly can't figure out what he's saying. Do they think he helped hush up noncery? Or that he's covering up that there was a cover up? How many degrees away do you have to be from the actual Bad Touch for the splashback to stick to you?

It does sound very strange.
He did nothing wrong all those years ago, but now that the BBC is trying to prove that it wasn't covering stuff up they sack him because he's adamant that he was never interviewed about allegations at that time. This suggests that they assumed he was guilty at the time and just rolled straight into cover up.
They're not calling him a liar (?), but they are disregarding his evidence because reasons and stuff.
So yeah, bin him.
Just seems fucked up.

I worked in a difficult environment and kept my diaries for 12 years.
However they are gone now and if you asked me to tell you where I was 10 or 12 year ago, I wouldn`t have a clue.

The Beeb and the rest of the "meeja" appear to be deliberately misinterpretting the Statement by TB.
They are asserting that TB is a liar, because they claim TB denies being interviewed by BBC officials!
If you read TB's statement, carefully, this is not what he is saying, at all.

What's he making so much fuss about? He's 73 years old FFS...it's about time the fake glinting eyes, the hairy chest and supercilious grin retired anyway IMO. I suspect some suits at the BBC, (and maybe some of their connections outside of BBC), were involved in this noncery in some way. I still think some of these '70s nonces jumped on the Hippy "free love" thing as an excuse to indulge themselves and jump on anyone's bones they felt like. We'll never know anyway, from what I've seen and read about the lastest report some important facts have been brushed over.
