I honestly can't figure out what he's saying. Do they think he helped hush up noncery? Or that he's covering up that there was a cover up? How many degrees away do you have to be from the actual Bad Touch for the splashback to stick to you?

The only thing clear to me is that the destructive power of sad vaginas seems to have no limits in time or space or plane of existence, even if you never touched them. It's like contagious airborne guilt.

I really don't know what to believe with this. The way things are panning out every celebrity who worked for the BBC was a kiddie fiddler and I don't believe that for one minute.

When you have the CPP doing that bloke who brushed past the actress in the tube station it looks like anything sexual will be pursued even if it's a load of crap.

I think he's trying to avoid the effect of the internet rumour mill. Unfortunately I think he's in a Kafkatrap.

Huh, near as I can make out, he didn't take Operation Nonce Hunt as totes SRS as they demanded. Not enough beating of chest and tearing of hair and piping of eye.

Being hung for a sheep when he didn't even fiddle the lamb.

It's funny that this has happened on exactly the same day as the Saville report has been released (Although I hear the BBC has had it for a week). It has had the desired effect though - We are all talking / posting about TB and not about JS and his mates.

Not really, he was sacked as a result of discussions to do with the Savile report..

So his statement in the OP is correct then?

Tony Blackburn in the 1970s was guilty, guilty of being the most boring DJ on TOTP me mum would have liked.

In that he was questioned as part of Smith report ? I understand that's true from what I've seen on the news today...

It does sound very strange.
He did nothing wrong all those years ago, but now that the BBC is trying to prove that it wasn't covering stuff up they sack him because he's adamant that he was never interviewed about allegations at that time. This suggests that they assumed he was guilty at the time and just rolled straight into cover up.
They're not calling him a liar (?), but they are disregarding his evidence because reasons and stuff.
So yeah, bin him. Neutral
Just seems fucked up.

I've been a programmer for 20 years, when looking at code I sometimes think who wrote this. Forgetting it was myself years ago.

So when he has been asked were you interviewed 45 years ago and said no. ...

Kin Ell ! someone is not clear about what happened 40+ years ago, so they sack him?

Think of a day 40 years ago and try to remember what you were doing.

I worked in a difficult environment and kept my diaries for 12 years.
However they are gone now and if you asked me to tell you where I was 10 or 12 year ago, I wouldn`t have a clue.
40+ years ago Shocked not a chance.

I cant believe that every person in the spotlight at the BBC was a kiddie fiddler.
Those at the top appear to be waving a stick to see who it will hit and calling them out.

This is definitely the most eloquent summary of noncergeddon I have ever read.

The Beeb and the rest of the "meeja" appear to be deliberately misinterpretting the Statement by TB.
They are asserting that TB is a liar, because they claim TB denies being interviewed by BBC officials!
If you read TB's statement, carefully, this is not what he is saying, at all.

Quote:
According to BBC records seen by Dame Janet, I was allegedly interviewed about the girl's' diary before her death in 1971 by a very senior figure at the BBC, Bill Cotton Jr.

I was also, supposedly, interviewed by Brian Neill QC as part of his report into the Payola scandal at the BBC.

I have repeatedly told Dame Janet and the BBC I was never interviewed by either man in this context and the BBC records are either very vague or have, conveniently, disappeared.

TB is stating that he was interviewed by Bill Cotton Jr. and Brian Neill QC, however not in the context the withcfinder general is claiming!

There's been a lot of coverage on the radio, yet I've not heard anyone mention this, a reasonable person might be thinking there was a cover up going on! Rolling Eyes

Lies, misinformation and propaganda all around us!

If you don't toe the 'official' line at the BEEB, you're out. If anyone involved in anyway with the BEEB during the 'Savile Years' had said what he or she suspected they would never ever be employed by them again and would be effectively permanently unemployed because 'word' would have been passed around.
