I have a Tomtom XXL which I'd like to be able to hear on the bike.
I thought about trying to fit a jack plug socket into the case but there doesn't seem to be space inside for that so then I came up with the idea of fitting a microphone inside the handlebar mount case (loads of room) and then connecting it to my phone.

I found this, https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATR3350IS-Lavalier-Microphone-Smartphones/dp/B00HZA6EJO/ref=lp_11974711_1_13/180-4249774-4321266?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1458062062&sr=1-13

I know it's wired but I cant think of anything else so it seems like a good solution, unless there's something better I've missed.

I use a little blue tooth receiver that I plug in ear headphone into. That sits in my inside pocket and connect it to my phone that sits in a holder on my handle bars. I have Co Pilot installed on my phone and use it now and again, but the setup is mainly for music.

I think the device cost me about £8-12. I can't remember exactly as I've glad it a couple years now.
