Lots of car used the 2 engines pre 1970.....
bond cars 3 wheeler villiers 2 stroke
bmw / messershmit / dkw / iseta etc (bubble cars)
saab before 1965 were all 2 stroke ( The best won many rallys)
Berkley microcar etc

Wartburg and Trabant were still producing 2 stroke engined cars until the late 1980s.
