Hello there guys, today my Son decided it would be a good idea to buy a battered 06 plate Speedfight 2 off of one of his 'buddies'.

After asking him about the scooter he has informed me that it has been converted to premix because of a broken oil tank or something?
Anyways I know that when running premix you need to plug the carb so not too much air is drawn in, only problem is I have no idea what im doing and neither does he!! Could someone please help us sort out this scooter so that it does not die on us, where about its the inlet that i need to plug? Also apparently you have to change the carb jet as well, is this true?

Premixing is just adding 2T oil into petrol rather than having a pump inject it. You shouldn't need to alter jetting or carb.

I'd be more inclined to fix the oil tank/pump though.

Edit: Did your "Son's" "friend" explain what ratio of oil to petrol they were using?

He said that he was just putting a capful of oil in. Tbh I dont think it has been looked after at all but my son seems happy with it so i just wanna get it running as best as i can Very Happy. Ive looked online and i found to use 20ml oil to ever litre of petrol? And also my son is quite happy using the premix method so need spending money on the oil tank. Also what part of the carb to I need to plug?
