just got this Yam 400 seca couple weeks ago and its driving me nuts. every time ive checked its had spark ( weak ) and i know all the Ignition wiring is ok. batterys good etc. after starting during warm up it just dies like i hit the kill button after a bit i get it running again and same thing happins over and over. once on the road its always ran flawless. idle to 9000 rpm id swear it isnt fuel related. my guess ignition box ? another thought its charging at 15/16 volts, too high and flips out ignition box? id like ideas from everyone please

Try changeing your HT leads and plugs possibly while your at it...

It might be something completely different but its worth a go

afaik when the leads get a bit iffy the can play up after geting to certain tempreture (as the resistance increaces with the tempreture enough to stop them working)

if it was cdi (assumeing its cdi ignition) afaik it would go from 0-5000 ok then anything over it would die instantly go back under and it would be fine or visa versa.

i'm not sure if it should be chargeing at that but the cx is supposed to be no more than 15v so i'd suspect its ok.
