Hello Ladies /Gents/ uncertain others
My lad has a Superlight (I know. He's young) The problem is, it start find and pulls away, but when the bars are moved to ride in a straight line, it dies. Nothing.
Carb is fine. Fuel & oil is fine. Airboxes etc untouched (its new @ 2015)
Electrics all work, lights, indicators etc.....until the bike is ridden in a straight line. That says to me that its clearly electrical and there is a loose wire / poor connection. My question is, What is the best place to start looking? Round the headstock / bars? If I am way off and its NOT electrical, I am more that willing to be guided by those with more knowledge than my humble self.
Kind regards,
The General

Have you tried moving the steering from full lock from left to right and vice versa to see if there's any snagged wires caught in the steering underneath somewhere?

Just something that pops up as obvious but simple to check. I'll leave any other suggestions to someone else.

Thumbs Up

I'd suspect the kill switch wiring has got pinched and would track inwards from there, visually and/or with a multimeter.

Another thing to look at if wiring is ruled out is the choke cable. It could be pulling against the headstock when the bars are straightened, thus pulling on the choke plunger and stalling the bike. Unless it's EFI of course, but they're usually GS/CG style singles with a slide carb or a CB style twin with cv's on that type of bike.
