What is the suggested best free/low cost CAD software for designing parts to be printed? I've used Catia in the past but it's been 10 years since I've had to design stuff. I've tried Solidworks but It's taking too long for me to pick up. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

Sketchup's fucking awful. It's the 3D equivalent to doodling on the back of a vomit-soaked napkin.
OpenSCAD is great if you can code, not so much if you can't. Autodesk do free software licenses if you're a student, Rhino3D is the package I use, and it's fairly cheap IIRC (I get a license through work). ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |
