How much paint is needed to spray a bike frame + swingarm?

I haven't used my spray gun yet but want to use it to respray an NSR frame, swingarm and the other bits, would also spray the crankcases if I have a lot of paint as well as my bicycle.

Is the amount of paint used similar to rattle cans? 300ml might to half a coat or do you get much more with a spray gun (after being diluted)?

want to know how much I will need before buying as it could work out very expensive.

Been looking at how much is need for a car (as that's all I could find) and I assume I need 1 litre of basecoat, 1.5 top and 1.5 clear coat.

Does that sound about right?
