Why?

..has my Scottoiler oil tube got air trapped inside it? I have never let it run dry but here we are.

The oil tube fits snug on the nipple of the RMV I can't understand how air has become trapped.

Just flick/tap/jiggle the pipe. This should dislodge the bubbles and they'll move up into the resevoir.

As to why it's there, the scotoiler pixies blow air into the pipe to make you think it's broken, so you buy a new one.

As long as the oil is still dripping onto the sprocket and chain normally, then don't worry about it. Mine does that and keeps working just the same.
