He posted a link to an art piece, then got banned, while the link remained intact.

Surely it would've been just as easy to remove the link and send a warning, as it was to ban the poster.

I understand the reason, but there's moderating and overmoderating - I think this was the latter and if you don't have the time to moderate correctly, don't take on the job.

I feel compelled to admit that despite my total opposition to his 'Everyone's lovely if you give them a chance' take on humanity as a whole, I did rather like his Show'n'Tell thread - I really wanted to see how that Kettle would get on. I get that posting NSFW stuff in a non-NSFW thread is just pushing it for the sake of pushing it these days, but I'm finding the 'one strike and you're out' method that's currently being employed to be a bit on the hair-trigger side.

I'd much prefer to be able to offer a 'warning', especially as I'd prefer not to get rid of our token left-winger - boring with no opposing views.

However, there's often complaints of favouritism when none has been shown, so sadly giving one person a 'warning' is asking for others to expect to be able to follow suit and consider it allowable to do it once because "you'll just get warning, like Vincent".

Usual situation - talk to Korn to have the account re-enabled. (Sadly many seem to have serious trouble with this, especially if it means showing a little humility.)

Bollocks. If a mod edits a users post for having an image that's a bit dodgy, then bans other people for the same thing, it's obvious what's going on.
