So the time has come to move on my "Baby Vmax" due to not enough time and too many toys!

Attached are pictures, I'd describe this a rideable project as it needs a few bits to finish it off to the standard it deserves. I'd guess putting in £150 and a couple hours graft would finish it off but I'm out of time and space for it now. It's a rare bike, 40 odd left around according to Wiki. Fast as hell for a 125cc, sounds great (not like a hairdryer) and looks like a smaller Vmax. Really interesting and unique bike.
I'm open to sensible offers, would prefer someone to take it and finish it off but if not I'll strip it for spares as there's a few people out there that want them.
Good bits first -
I've commuted on it fairly regularly for a while, its VERY nippy off the lights, and reliable as hell.
I've had a new battery on it 3 months ago and new front pads 1 month ago.
Costs nothing to insure or tax, runs about 150 miles on a tank which is about £8-£10 to fill from dry.
Really low and comfortable ride position, great for smaller or new riders.
Put on a front screen to help with wind, looks great and makes the bike a lot more comfortable to ride.
There's a small Givi back box on it I will include. Locking is a bit fiddly at the minute for some reason. Possibly just me, I never lock it or use it.
Recently had the brakes bled and filled, front reservoir had the top screws tapped and replaced as they were a bit ropey to remove.
The oil pump actually works! For an older 2 stroke this is rare. Took me some fiddling recently but now works a treat.
New NGK plug put in a month ago or so.
Bad bits -
Due a new chain and sprockets, whole lot for £70 off eBay.
Carb needs a clean out. Recently sorted the 2 stroke pump out, never thought to do this AFTER running out the pre-mix so its a touch rich at the min.
Side stand - the pivot bolt rusted out, needs welding back properly. I have attached a "universal" side stand which wont take any weight.
One "odd" rear indicator and a couple of tatty mirrors. Whole lot should be replaced really.
Bar ends need replacing. Fitted a new set of handlebars recently as the old ones just didn't look right. Since this I think a couple wires are loose as well, no neutral light on the dash and the kill switch is not working either. Believe this is just wiring needs checking.
Speedo cable could do with replacing, speedo flickers a bit on accelerating at low speeds. |
