Looking for a risk assessment...
I noticed when I took my wheel off that the sprocket carrier bearing is slightly notchy.

If you spin it on your finger clockwise, its smooth.
If you spin it anti-clockwise for a second, then back clockwise, then it feels like a slight rubbing at one point of the first rotation.

Theoretically what may I be risking by riding on it until a new bearing arrives?

Pack some grease in it till it arrives.

TBH. won't do much harm as its all nice and tight.
