Hini just brought some pirelli diablo supercorsas and was in such a rush to get them i clicked on the ones that would arrive quickest and they turned out to be the sp's and alot of ppl saying there shit compared to the sc's whats the difference in the tyred im guessing compound these sp's feel quite soft so im guessing will shred quicker but i dont mind that issue to be honist as its a weekend toy and am willing to pay out as i find grip importants,

Anyone else run these tyres and notice a difference in the between sc and sp?

What bike are they going on?

My thoughts (and I could be wrong!) is that the sp is the "road version" whilst the sc is aimed solely at racing with multiple compounds being available

SP's are not shit and if you can get anywhere near their limit before you reach yours I'd be surprised. They are the road tyre designed to warm up quickly, give good grip and don't last long.
SC's are also not shit. If you can get them warm enough and keep them warm enough on the road to reach your limit I would be surprised. I doubt you would reach the tyres limit on the road. They ideally need tyre warmers and pushing hard to do what they were designed for, high grip at big lean, last a day at the track. That's the difference.
Of course there are people who use sc's on the road but it is a waste of money imho and they are usually peeps who are big on talk and low on walk.

What OGR said. The SCs also have a limited number of heat cycles in them before they blue and go off. If you use them on the road where they're forever getting warm & cold they might go off. SCs are ideally supposed to be kept in tyre warmers when they're not out on track, so only one heat cycle per day. SPs aren't bothered by heat cycles so are what you want on the road.

I used to do trackdays on the SPs before the SCs, and wile the SCs are fucking amazing when hot, the SPs are bloody good too.

As much as supercorsas do 'go off' once they've been through however many heat cycles and they go blue round the edges but in real world terms for most people riding on the road (or even on trackdays) it's really not going to be an issue.

You can also buy race scrubs and save yourself some money. Thumbs Up

Tyres going blue is not an indication of them being off. It's simply the oils in the tyre rising to the surface after cooling. I've had new sets do this after a day in warmers once they cooled down next day still grippy as the day before.

I run (used) SC's on my DRZ and think they are mint Thumbs Up No idea what the difference is, but with the sc's you need to gan canny for a few miles until they get heat in them, heard many stories of people coming off due to cold tyres. Have used them in all weathers, even lashing down rain and they perform great. Awesome tyres, I always have a spare set or two.

I've always found them to be good from cold.
Pilot races however are absolutely abysmal from cold.

On my zx9 I'd sometimes have Supercorsas fronts go 'off' before going below 1mm tread, while the rear would run out of tread first generally.
Possibly something to do with seriously downgeared and 143rwhp Whistle.

They have slipped on my DRZ a few times, just from down shifts when coming out of my street, no biggie really.

I can usually get 2 rears to 1 front but seems to be the case for a lot of tyres. Mixed experience with milage from the rears due to them being used. Best is 2700 miles, worst is 1500 but I think that one might have been an SC1 I ordered by mistake. Usually run SC1 on the front and SC2 on the rear.

For the road SPs are the ones to go for. They are excellent.

SCs on the other hand are track tyres with limited heat cycles, not ideal for the road, but for a good price you can get some scrubs so no much to complain about I would happily go for that too. If you buy brand new, get SP.
