Have had the stator and/or rectifier burn out on me tonight for the 4th or 5th time in the past 2 years of having the bike.

Getting p*ssed off keep replacing the parts for it to happen a few months again down the line

Has anyone ever had similar, i understand it is a common fault with the 06 gsxr Rolling Eyes

Are you running any additional electrical devices on the bike? Killing a reg rec every 2 months is very abnormal.

Where the r/r is located is not the best of places for heat dissipation and of the two GSXR600K6s that I have seen cooking the units, both replacements were pattern parts and far better at isolating the r/r from the radiated heat from the frame down tube.

This one has a large heat sink that goes between the frame and the r/r

This one has far larger fins on the r/r

This one came from the USA and was more expensive than the one from electrexworld.

But neither bikes have had any further problems Thumbs Up

Theres quite a few people on the gixxer forum relocating the rectifier to a place that will give it more air flow.

Something Ive been meaning to do once the weather improves a bit and I have time on my hands.

You need to move the rec/reg away from the rad and into cool air

Another option could be putting a 12v PC fan on the RR
