Hi all,

What are peoples recommendations for tyres?

80% road, 20% gravel.

Bike is a 2015 Vstrom 650.

Front tyres: 110/80R19M/C 59H, tubeless
Rear tyres: 150/70R17M/C 69H, tubeless

Currently looking at Metzler tourance next and Pirelli Angel GT's.

Nice even dry summer gravel, or muddy rutted potholed winter sludge gravel?

Lovely soft summer gravel. (IE your average road surface after being repaired)

No. Pilot roads are good in a sporty size like 180/55/17, but when you go down to 150/70/17 they are lacking in roundness. I can not imagine a bike that they would suit, lean more than 10 degrees and your off the edge of tire.

Im quite sure my brothers 07 vstrom does not have a 150 rear fitted.

Maybe he doesn't, but that is the factory spec for a 2015 650 Vstrom.

OP, I've got Tourances on my XL600 and they seem OK on tarmac, no idea what they would be like off road.

Tourances are pathetic offroad, might aswell just have a road only tyre such as the Pilot 4 Trail (made for the smaller rear sections as opposed to the normal PR4).

Anakee's are good, found them very nice on my Tiger 955.

I've never had them but Continental TKC-70s get good reviews as being slightly more road biased than the TKC80s.
