Err if i'm honest I haven't got a clue what model it is, will see if there is written on the board..

when i try to log into the web interface, i can get in but nothing works. if I select a video feed, I get a dialogue complaining I haven't got quick time installed

So, installed quick time an still says its missing do i want to install it, clicking on the install link it provides takes me to a dead apple page

tried with Firefox an IE11 (activex is enabled etc)

Can you post a picture of the DVR, front and rear connections and tell me what its IP address is on your network?
Does it have a hard drive fitted, many are supplied without?
Also is it connected directly to a TV or monitor?

I have set it up in my office in work, connected a mouse to it an monitor via a vga cable. DVR came without a hdd so ihave fitted one my self (a 1TB)

It must have two logons, as if i connect to it via its local ip address, i can log on as admin but can do bugger all once im in there.

connecting via a mouse etc gives me more options but im unable to log on as admin (errors with incorrect password) even tried a password generator but thats didnt work

Got a new DVR in work that we can't log in to!

Looks similar to that, what was your default Admin password?

You can bring it round here if you want.

Spend a bit of time fucking about and working it all out.

Hold each other in a warm embrace.

First off all the set up can only be done when the DVR is connected direct to a TV or monitor.

When connected via the network you have to use IE and it will require downloading an ActiveX widgit, without that it won't work. Once downloaded and restarted you should be able to see the output from your cameras, something like this...

https://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad297/750RK/Odds%20and%20ends/cctv2.jpg

In network mode you can only do things like playback or magnify an individual cameras view.

There are no passwords except those that you put on it or the distributor did if they are being annoying. All units have the user name of Admin until changed by you.

Assuming you haven't changed the HTTP port you should be able to connect over the network but you will either bneed to set a static IP on the unit or a reserved IP on the router. If you change the HTTP port to 443 or 8080 as I had to do for external access then you may need to tag these on the end of the IP eg :443 :8080 to get full access.

Log into the DVR via IE11 and it should offer you the option to install it.
