What you reading?

I've been on a garth Ennis Kick recently.

Just finished 'The Boys' which is probably the best thing I've ever read.
I'm also halfway through 'Preacher' which is Excellent. The 'Saint of Killers' is one of my favourite characters.

I just read the first TPB of 'Crossed' which is fucking brutal, it's so fucking grim. It dances on the line of gratuitous, being far more gory and horrific and anything I've read before however I feel it is less gratuitous than say 'The Boys' because it is done it impress upon you how fucked the world is and really impresses on you that you would eat a bullet before being caught by the Crossed.

Yeah that's ace. Be pure, be vigilant - behave. Used to live that. Still do tbh.

Also, someone should publish the combined Future Shocks from the first five years or so if they haven't already.

Just finished reading Preacher again (There is a TV series in development in America.... not sure how they are gonna fit Herr Star in there...) Brilliant bit of fiction. I also read "Y: The Last Man" which was really good, and I am currently working through "Chew".

I know about that I heard about it and thought who would I cast in the roles and I actually picked Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy before I read about it!

Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg are behind it, they also have the rights to 'The Boys' the vibe is is Preacher does well the boys will be made Thumbs Up Would love to see Tom hardy play Butcher, it'll never happen though Sad

The only comic/graphic novel I have is The Gunslinger, I got quite excited when I heard they were releasing them as a comics.... but I was disappointed that they started them from half way through Wizard & Glass.

Although I always pictured Roland looking similar to Clint Eastwood, there was a slight resemblance in the comic...... so why the FUCK did someone decide that it should be Idris Elba in the movies (if they do actually make them)

It will mess all the Odetta part up....
Don't think they are even casting Odetta or Eddie...
Just Roland and Jake In the ka Tet....
Comics are good

I haven't read the Gunslinger Graphic novel my it is on my list. I am actually reading through the Dark tower books at the moment. I'm about 1/4 of the way through the 3rd.

Idris Elba for me is a good match for Roland, I can see him doing it well. It will however totally ruin the main subplot in the Second book. It could have been tactical in some ways it will get them out of using lots of Racial language.

If the second book didn't have the 'detta character/personality I'd be 100% behind it.

I have caught up on Chew (55 eps out of a 60 ep run).

If you havent read it, it is worth a read. Following a massive outbreak of Avian flu, loads of people have died. The FDA are the main police force in america and Tony Chu gets promoted from the regular police when the FDA find out that he can find out information just by eating things. Really funny and good graphical style.

I am 10 eps into 100 bullets - definately worth a read, lots of stories that I can see all intertwining. Two or three episodes per story, and essentially people who have had wrong done to them are given a gun with 100 bullets (untraceable) and a dossier with irrefuteable evidence.

I quite enjoyed the web series, but didn't purchase the books. It had to be worth a read when the first page depicted a dolphin being fucked in the blow hole (do dolphins have blow holes? Confused) and the quote "I've seen urethra rape"

My fave graphic novel series ever Thumbs Up .. This would be perfect as a TV show.

It was mooted a while ago, with Keanu Reeves as Cole. Based on the art, I would have gone for a Johnny Depp type. Not sure why.
Really enjoying it though.
