Morning

Ive had my A2 licence for almost 2 years now, but I turned 24 last month anyway, so I want to get my full A licence and get it over with (all over again).

My question is about my bike.

I have an ER6n 2012, only thing is it's got an aftermarket exhaust and I don't wanna swap it to stock. Do you think it'll be ok to use? The baffles are in. Also should I put my stock mirrors on?, I've bot bar ends on atm.

Cheers

how loud is it?
It if its ridiculously loud it might be an idea to put a db killer in or something for the test, first impressions and all that.
Bar end mirrors could possibly be beneficial, as in you are more likely to move your head to look in them than you are the big stock offerings.
Makes it more obvious to the examiner you are using them.

Good on you for DIYing it.

All that's required is that the bike is roadworthy. If the exhaust isn't marked as "Not for road use" or similar, you should be OK. That said, who knows the mysteries of DVSA Derek's mind. If you have the stock silencer and it's not too much work to re-fit it, I might go ahead and do that.

Mirrors, not a problem. They're not actually required.

I take it that you're planning to ride it in as "restricted" then "derestrict" it in the car park?

Its a scorpion exhaust so Its not too loud I don't think (Im not actually sure cause I only hear it whilst I'm sat on it). Yeah Ive got the stock exhaust too but I'd rather not swap it out again, then again.

Yeah thats what I'm gonna do, what should I do just pretend to tinker with it in the car park if anyones about? And Obviously I'll need to buy L plates.

Your friends going to be sitting the test at the same time as you and he'll pretend to remove it meanwhile you'll have some washers or alike in your hand ready to show because you'll have removed the restriction. Wink

Edit: I forgot the story told during das about some guy who turned up on an L plated sportsbike for his test passed test ripped them off and rode away. So it is done, just not often it seems.
