The Sena 20s is probably one of the best suited to what you're doing, most motorcycle headsets only allow you to use in helmet speakers, the Sena will let you use headphones.

I'm not certain whether music stops for speech on the 20s, or just dips the level down, either way most motorcycle headsets allow both music and speech.

The downside is that most headsets have the mic attached to the main unit on a boom, which would be impractical for non-helmet use. I've heard of throat mics, which might be better (or might be too distracting), I've never actually seen one though.

ok im sure im missing something but lets look at this.
so you want to do hypnosis on a motorbike?
i find the big over ear headphones next to useless once you have the crash helmet on.
ok that was a joke.
so why cant you talk to your client?
is this a long distance thing?
do you need to be in another room(country)because they smell(or you smell)or they are violent?
how secure does this communication need to be?
do you need to speak to multiple people at the same time?(starting a cult etc)
how mobile does the setup need to be?
ill admit im a fan of hypnosis a an aid to treatments.
im still not sure why you cant just talk to people though, why the headsets and stuff?
my guess it this is jadefox's one and only post ever.

I would look into the scala range rather than those by sena. Mainly because the scala rider headsets have a standard connector for the headphones rather than sena proprietary one. This would mean you can plug in a set of over the ear headphones without the need for an adapter.
The Scala rider q3 will do the basics of what you want, with the exception of being able to listen to music and talk simultaneously. For that you would need the scala packtalk as that can do multiple audio sources at the same time (rather than giving priority to one or the other).
The extra benefit of the newer Scala models is that it has a boom mike that is adhesive, rather than attached to the unit, so, with a large set of over ear headphones would allow attachment to the ear cup.

Bloody Hell! I didn't know there was a difference.

Thank you all for your replies.

To answer some of the questions:

I need to block out sound (I work in a busy practice so sometimes it's beneficial to have headphones if phones are going or people chatting)

Yes there is a vast difference between clinical hypnotherapy and hypnosis. Hypnosis is used more for stage performances, instantly inducing the person into another state of mind, where clinical hypnotist we help people with therapy at the same time!
So rather than making someone cluck like a chicken or sing like Elvis, we find out why they want to!! 😎

I deal with everything from phobias to pain management, confidence building to stress relief. It's a fabulous job and I earn upwards of £50 an hour so it pays well too!

Anyway, I will go and research the headsets you've talked about. May thanks for the recommendations 👍😊

I would expect it'd be fairly easy to get a decent setup having devices connected to a computer (maybe via bluetooth for wireless).
