Hi all,
Looking for some advice, I have an oxford hardcore lock/chain and it's rather big to be lugging around on my commute.

Any recommendations for a lighter more portable solution that's still fairly secure?

Also, was out with my father in law on Satuday and saw the most amazing bike

it was a Honda, six cylinder from the late seventies/early eighties it was in pristine show room condition. What was it? It was stunning

Thanks,

Oxford has a reputation for being made of cheese and easy to get through. It's only until you buy and see an Almax or Pragmasis in person that you come to appreciate the size difference in links and overall quality. I'd say it's a shame that such brands aren't shop sold as it took me a fair while to find out about them. I'd say there's no looking back once you do.

How are you transporting your chains at the moment while riding? I invested in this tailbag and ok there's some faffing involved to get it on and off every time but it makes riding with large weights from the chains doable.

Pragmasis
Almax

13mm, 16mm, 19mm. Usually 19mm for home and either 13mm or 16mm for transporting around.

Light weight locks are exactly as described.

You rely on them with the caveat that a knowledgeable scrote can thwart them very easily (Because they are light weight).

This is an olde video but the shite is still out on the market as 'sold secure' and Thatchams know all about it (because I told them) but they don't give a fuck.

Aha, well here comes the interesting part. I'm not actually commuting on the bike yet... due to this issue. I was going to buy a tail pack (the oxford one that converts to a backpack for carrying laptop & clothes)

but can't see how it would fix to my bike (GSXF 750) as i have the seat and a grab rail and dont understand how i could mount a tail pack?

The bike doesnt seem to have much under seat storage either..

If it's like my tail pack, it will have straps that run under the seat. Remove seat, strap pack on to seat, replace seat, done. It's stable and you can carry a significant amount of weight.

See this video. 1:13 you want. You'd just have to get used to the idea of leaving the base on the bike permanently. Also you'd need to (if you have a bungee strap to hand) take a look around your bike and see if there's anywhere you could mount it to that wont effect the handling of the bike. Other tail bags come with straps that you put under the seat and leave there and then you just unhook the bag and take it with you at either end.

Because CE clothing/clothing with CE labels sewn in is much more important. Shocked

You just steal yourself one of these and NO chain is safe.

After all, almax have to cut it to length somehow.

They used this or something similar to steal my bike for joyriding.
