Good write up! Mallory is a good track for a novice, a few years ago before the chicane at Edwinas it was better and before that the run through Devils Elbow before the bus stop chicane was interesting.
Cadwell is a different barrel of fish. Take it easy at first, much narrower and its quite a bit more important where you are on track coming out of a corner than going in as much of it is unsighted and going gung ho can mean a visit to Louth hospital. Quite a few left handers at Cadwell as opposed to Mallory, these sort out the men from the roundabout boys. Get it right though and it has got to be the best motorcycle track in the world.
Tyre warmers, mmm. Not really needed on a track day except in your head. I used them on slicks for racing but a track day isn't a race (really, honestly) and it can give you a bit a false security cos riding on them is the only real way to get them up to temp and condition.

Following advise from this post, i've been working on my body positioning while road riding in prep' for my next track day (hopefully Cadwell in early September).

I think i've noticeably improved my BP since April when I was at Mallory.

Good write up, sounds like you did it the right way and enjoyed it.

I'd agree about not using tyre warmers. On a track day there's too much hanging about waiting to go out, in a race its quicker, plus you get a warm up lap, something I think you need even with warmers.

Devils elbow is the most difficult corner on this track, get it right it's also the one where you can make most time up on others who are intimidated by it, Barn at Cadwell is similar

OOPs didn't see earlier post, doh!

do you think the BP is fine as it is, or does my top half still need to come off some more? Or is it just a matter of get off as much as you comfortably can?

For your lean angle, it is fine, when you get further you might want to start leaning off more to counter it/get more grip.

Drop your right elbow and have your head in line with the right mirror and you are all good.

BP has improved massively over the last season. Cannot wait to do my 2nd track day, never got round to doing one since mallory as originally planned because of buying a new bike, mods & saving for a holiday.

Will aim for elbow down next summer, photo was taken 2 weeks ago and the roads were a bit cold & damp in areas too.
