Noticed on my lad's provisional that the date his licence started is in the A section for bikes. Is this normal or have the DVLA cocked up somehow? (i know, impossible...).

What we're hoping is they don't notice when he gets his car test done and put it on again. If they forget it when other people renew and then force them to retake their test again then it's only fair he doesn't have to take one if they say he already has it! He'd be a very rare 17 year old with a full bike licence if they do! Thumbs UpVery Happy

I believe that it's normal. There's no provisional AM / A1 / A2. Provisional A covers riding any bike compliant with your license entitlements.

So, moped at 16, 125/11kW at 17, A2 at 19, A at 24 or 2 years after A2, and all conditional on complying with the requirement to display L plates, and for A2 and A, wearing hi vis and being in radio contact with a certified instructor (or on test).

Yeah, i thought it would probably be that. Oh well, would've saved him (or rather me) a few quid, but nevermind. Cheers Roger! Thumbs Up
