Hi, I have a 2011 YBR 125, it has been running fine daily for the past 5 years but suddenly will not start!

I have changed the battery but its not that, the spark plugs are ok and all the connections seem ok..

When you press the starter it clicks and sometimes makes a sound to indicate it is trying to start but doesnt start. If you bump start it (there is no kick start) it runs just fine!

Any ideas?!

They have a habit of doing the starter switches. Try wiggling the wire into it whilst starting and see if it catches. Mine was like that. Annoying

If you need to be taught what continuity is, please sell the bike to someone else.

I had a very similar problem when I first got my CG125. Check the starter motor, the brushes had worn on mine but just cleaning the brushes and contacts bought me a couple of days of a working electric start.

If you have a multimeter what`s the battery voltage before and after pressing the starter button? I doubt the starter motor being so young, the starter relay switch can be bypassed / checked by bridging the terminals

It was the starter motor, nothing to it with the multimeter, got a reconditioned one today and it starts again first time!

Multimeter would have told you that before you took the gamble though

Out of interest (as I am sure something similar will happen to me again at some point) how would you check the starter motor with a multimeter? Put the red probe on the terminal and the black on the body of the motor, if there is no reading when the start button is pushed, that means it's the motor?
