Wondering what the different licenses are.
CBT is the only one I know.

The others: A1 & A2 / MOD 1 & MOD 2? What are all of these and their difference?

Also I am wondering if it is bet to just get my CBT & full license on a crash course over 2/3 days?

Please tell me what are your toughs & experiences?

This one explains the difference between A1, A2 and A

This one shows you how you go about getting each license

Time frame it depends on your experience and how quickly you pick it up.
Not everyone can complete their CBT in a day, there is a lot of learn and for a complete newbie it can be too much for a single day.

Also for the license you need to complete the theory test.

General path is CBT -> Theory -> Mod 1 -> Mod 2

You have to complete your CBT before taking Mod 1 and you have to complete Mod 1 before taking Mod 2.
Most people do the CBT first so they are sure it's for them and they aren't dropping £500+ on something they hate (it happens).

The CBT is not a licence. It enables you to use your Provisional licence on the road on a motorcycle up to a 125cc.

The full licence categories are:

AM which is a moped licence
A1 which is a full licence for light motorcycles, up to 125cc
A2 which is for larger powered motorcycles up to a 47BHP
A which is a full licence for any size of bike.

Mod 1 and mod 2 are the tests to gain the full licences and they are the same on each of the bikes with a lower speed element on the AM category on Mod 1 emergency stop and avoidance exercise.

If you want to ride anything bigger than a 125cc then you need a full licence, I would suggest booking a CBT with the aim to go full licence, depending on age, You need to be 19 for A2 or 24 for A.

You will know on the CBT whether you want to continue with motorcycling or not.

Nail on the head.

My mrs completed hers on 2nd attempt and has since decided to keep her motorcycling antics to my pillion seat. CBT has made her a
better passenger though for sure. Thumbs Up

It might a cool idea for anyone considering becoming a pillion to do the CBT.
