Hola,

Assisting a friend and basic phones are not my thing...

He essentially wants 3 handsets, 1 upstairs in office, 1 downstairs and 1 across the road, all share the same external number.

What he wants is for personal in office upstairs to ring over the road to open the gate manually as its a fair trek to open a gate.

Non-VoIP route is ideal as infrastructure is sub-par at best, I could assist with VoIP but without a decent set up with new switching and servers, its just not worth it.

They look ideal. I'll have to keep a nose for them.

Don't need much hardware for Asterisk.
We're using a version of it and it does fine generally.

Can pick up sip phones/devices cheaply.

If you've got half decent wifi, can also get free sip softphone for mobiles which works ok.

Something that can be done relatively easily in an afternoon is what I'm aiming for. I have very little free time currently and its a 'freebie' for them Thumbs Up
