the end can its self should be stainless steel or aluminum so it will not rust, a arrow 2 stroke performace pipe its self is made of mild steel and rusts like hell and is best to paint it with black exhaust paint

is it chrome of laquered metal...
the chrome pipes only tene do flake off at the very close manifold right by the engine. if its laquered metal, it wil rust like a biatch and all go flakey. black exhaust paint will work for about £7 a tin. or you could pay about £30 and get it chromed...
It isnt so bad in summer, but now winters here, its going to rust. if you dry it off when you get in on a wet day (let it cool first) the water wont set on the metal...

Good luck!

its a arrow extreme exhaust and it sounds beautiful (yes i no im a ped boy sorry its the best i can get at the moment). It says its made from a thin iron sheet oxyacetylene welded and is painted with heat-resistant varnish.

2 stroke pipes look good chromed. I got mine done for about 50 squid, keeps them looking shiney, although they still need protecting against rust. Use something like Scottoiler FS365 or Motorex 645 Clean and Protect to keep it clean. This will work fine with chome or with the normal mild steel finish. Also if you get you pipe chromed do not use anything like autoglym or autosol on it as it will strip the chrome off! The best thing to use for chrome is pink windolene. Very Happy

Is that exhaust off an Italjet Dragster..?

And i like the little cork screw at the end before the end can. Very stylish...

Ive got a Technigas 70cc hand made pipe imported from italy. It has got the laquer finish but because it is near enough a straight through pipe, it dosent really get hot enough to burn the laquer... Razz Lucky me...
Makes an awful lot of noise though... and NO im NOT a ped boi. Wink
Im a semi experienced scooter rider, "No rs50 for me. lol"

if u ever look at moped exhausts there very rusted, this is because the aftermarket ones dont come painted, unless u buy a tarty chrome one.
anyway i bought some heatproof hammerite paint.
and it never rusted a bit,and i used it through a harsh winter

Even the exhaust I got with the bike, which isn't modified in anyway is rusting to buggery.

Oh in the pic I made sure I just started the engine on this crisp morning so you can oogle over the 2 stroke smoke. Razz
