Is the hazard perception test going to be something in CGI? like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g61boTtV_k
I have been practicing on real life videos-
Also do the videos in practice tests ever come up in the real thing? |

Get yourself the DVD from the safedrivingforlife shop or something. The hazard perception is CGI and as far as I recall that clip is one of many mini clips on the DVD.
One thing you need to understand is that the hazard perception is a game and another hoop to jump through. Don't sweat caring about what is and isn't a hazard, just learn when the game wants you to click and get through it and never think about it again.

However, none of the clips on the test were the same as what's on the official dvsa practice disc, which I would highly recommend getting a copy of btw, as it'll get you used to where they want you to actually click, as opposed to where you might click.
As mentioned above, the test is a farce and serves no useful purpose in reality, except for bringing in extra revenue due to folk having to re-sit it.
I believe Rogerborg summed it up best by saying you should treat it like a computer game. |
So you mean paning the camera while driving flat out and aiming for that ramp the get some air time and fill the boost gauge. May he plays computer have differently to me ____________________ Current rides - 2016 Triumph Street Triple Rx, 1994 Suzuki Bandit 400 VM, TGB 204 Classic 125cc

I've got to admit I found the whole CGI thing very distracting. I got lower marks on that than the practice ones with the real videos even though the CGI ones are MUCH higher quality. Just concentrate on the hazards and don't think too much about how weird the people look |

Yup, I did the hazard perception and theory, to go from an A2 license, to an A about June last year. Despite having done it twice (once for A2, and once for B license), I managed to fail the hazard perception.
Obviously the tests fault But I was surprised by the CGI.
In some respects it's easier now as everything is more obvious and actions are pronounced. It's easier to read whats coming next imo. It can have the negative effect of making you jump the gun a little bit though and click too early for a hazard which you can see is about to take place. In my first attempt at the hazard perception, the video said that there were only two or three hazards per clip. It said you can click more times but they won't be logged. So when the clips played I used my clicks wisely and tried to click at the perfect moment as early as I thought I could get away with for a hazard. Perhaps only 3 or 4 clicks per video. I failed and the lady on my way out gave me a funny remark about not paying enough attention to the videos and spotting enough hazards.
On my second attempt I thought feck this and just clicked at everything, almost to the point of clicking constantly and blindly at anything that half resembled a hazard. I passed so I think the test is pretty flawed tbh. |
