Laughing

He came round my house earlier to fit some crash bungs to his GSXR600, so the bike goes up on the paddock stand and we get away fitting some of R&G's finest, when I notice the oil window on his bike, was not actually showing any oil Whistle

For the second bike running, he's ridden it for miles with no oil in it Laughing Doh!

I don't know, every time my mate/garage have ever filled my bike up with oil etc it's been on a paddock stand, never really thought that it'd make the reading wrong.

Hustler, please go check your bike Shocked might have to drain some out Mad

Best way to check oil on a bike with no centre stand is to get someone to hold the bike up for you while someone else checks it Smile.

Yep its all oily and ok (withing F - E markings when level). *Makes mental note to check the window more often.*

Ok sorry Yams, Hustler.

You say the level shows the same, on both the padock stand and on level ground?

So you read it wrong with the bike on the paddock stand the first time then? Or does it read the same in both situations?

Only i would have though it would have read differently... Confused

No idea, it wasn't to the full on the paddock stand anyway, and Hustler has checked it on level ground a minute ago and said that the level is a-okay.. so it's fine Smile

Cool, yeah i remember from my lessons. It's "bike upright on flat level ground. Look at viewing glass", and all that...

Yeah the oil must have been drawn foreward when the bike was on the stand, giving you a false reading...

Alls well that ends well, i suppose. Razz

You will get a false reading on the paddock stand, unless you put it on a front stand too. Just lift it of the sidestand to check, make sure its perfectly upright.
